From the mouths of babes

Last night, Steve and Nathan were reading a Bible story together. (Out of the illustrated Bible story book that Steve's parents used to read to him when he was a boy.) They were reading about a man who accidentally killed another man, and he was running to a "City of Refuge" to escape revenge from the dead man's family. He knew if he could get inside the city gates, that he would be safe. (The story is found in Numbers 35)

I wasn't sure what kind of application Steve was going to make for Nathan from this story, but Nathan was on top of it. After Steve read the story, Nathan thought for a minute, and then said:

"So, God is like that city. If we run to Him, He will keep us safe!"
