Confession time

I cannot sew. No... you don't understand. I had trouble threading the needle in girl scouts. I almost failed Home Ec in 7th grade because my "jams" only had one leg. I use special iron-on paper to attach Nathan's patches to his Cubbies vest! Sewing is not my thing!

My mother-in-law, on the other hand, can sew. And knit. And crotchet. And she made this for Nathan:

Notice the yellow lion faces throughout. Nathan LOVES this blanket! It's super-soft, super-warm, and super-cute! And it's made just for him by someone who loves him very much. Not me, of course... but someone just as cool!

Thanks, Vivian!

I'm like you, Gracie...my sis, on the other hand, could look at somebody and make them a beautiful outfit without a pattern. God just thought it best that you and I don't use metal objects to try to create something, I guess?

Just to set the record staight...I can't knit. Oh, I can make the stitches, but they don't go together to make anything. The sweater I made in my teens had a front, a back, 2 sleeves and a collar. But none of it actually fit together to make something wearable. I eventually unraveled the whole thing to save the yarn, but never made anything else with it.

I'm glad Nathan likes the afghan. It was certainly made with love. And, ok, I had fun doing it. And if everyone could make afghans, who would we make them for????

Love ya. Vivian

It really is beautiful. I understand why Nathan loves it!

Yes, he is very much loved. Reading the blog, there a bunch of people who love you folks. That is probably because you are so loveable. Keep up the good work!
