Here's a quick funny for you to tide you over... we have discovered that "down South", people like to use the word "Hon!" Of course, in thick Southern drawl, it comes out sounding more like "Huuunn!", but you know what we mean. I think we were expecting older women to Hon us, but we didn't expect to get it from the teenagers too. When we pulled up to a drive-through window in Paducah KY (birthplace of Steven Curtis Chapman and Steve's mom Vivian) the high school girl that took our order Hon-ed Steve 3 times in less than a minute.
"What can I get you, Hon?"
"Anything else for you, Hon?"
"That'll be $8.35, Hon!"
For whatever reason, that was hilarious to us. Maybe we were just tired. But I'm calling Steve Hon now. And we're both loving the sweet tea! We are enjoying our visit to Georgia and will have more stories (and pictures!) to share when we get back home!

Could it be that y'all are now old enough to be "hons"?
By the way, I was born in Winfield, Kansas. we just lived in Paducah when I was in elementary school. But, details, details...

I probably should have gone south with you to get used to this before I leave, hon! I guess I don't have room to talk, since I just completed The Learning English as a Second Language class...HON!
