It has been an amazing first two days in Kenya! Yesterday, we went to the Hawkers Marget to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. It was very colorful, full of beautiful foods and beautiful people. So many of them struck up conversations with us. We were told by Steve's parents that relationship is key here in Kenya, so they have certain people that they always go to...people they have fostered relationships with over the 2 years they have been here. One of those was Joseph, who agreed to pose for a picture with his fruit. We bought a huge basket-full of fresh fruits and veggies for under $20! We returned home to take naps (gotta love jet-lag!), and after that we walked around the campus with James. It is a beautiful school where he works.

Today was another great day! We went to the Giraffe Center, where we were able to get up close and personal with three giraffes. We even fed them out of our hands... Nathan included! We also went to an Elephant Orphange, where babay elephants are cared for. It is only open to the public for one hour each day. It is one thing to see these animals in a book or even in a zoo. It is quite another to feed one from your hand or reach out and touch one with only a rope seperating you.

Grandpa and Grandma are enjoying having Nathan here with them, and he is taken with them as well. They are all making up for lost time. I think Nathan is having the time of his life here. There is so much more to share with you all, but it will have to wait until next time. It's time for us to settle in for the night. Goodbye until next time...
